Baby erections!

All my friends with little boys do love to go on about how often their boys have erections... Well, I have never seen DS have one and he's 20 months. Should I be worried??? Will I never be a grandma!?

Sorry to post such an embarrassing post but what is 'normal'??

ds didn't have one till after that age

I was a bit as I have two older girls, I never even considered it!

Wait till he takes his nappy off and starts playing with it, then looks at you, looks at his little willy and says "ooh, mummy BIG "

bohemianbint · 20/05/2008 14:51

Dunno - but my DS has been getting them since he was tiny, just sometimes, when you change his nappy. Freaks me out a bit, I wasn't sure that was normal!

ds (4) has never had many really. I think only once as a baby when he managed to wee over his own face

He was very impressed a few months ago when he was complaining it was big and I told him if he stopped playing with it it would go down and it did. Oh the all knowing mummy!

DS1 is currently going through what i hope is a stage, of getting it out and going at it like hell. I can't stand it- i don't mind him flapping / stretching / waving /talking to it, but he seriously goes to town on it, and it makes me feel ill. He's 2 next month.

'Mummy when I play with it, it gets bigger'

  • Yes dear, put it away

'Mummy, did yours fall off when you didn't look after it?'

I noticed erections on ds when I changed his nappy from the earliest time. Can't think why an erection should be necessary in a baby, since a boy doesn't ejaculate until he reaches puberty, or so I understand. So maybe your ds is saving his strength for later!
