Fear of bees/flies

Has anyone got any advise about a fear of bees, flies and wasps?

So my little girl is almost 4. Since last summer she has been frightened of basically any insects which fly. I have no idea where is came from but it seams to have been getting worse recently. I got a feeling it could be from a YouTube kids video about mosquitoes/bees stinging but who knows.

We have just gotten back from a centre parcs holiday where she spent a lot of time on edge while we were outside as you can imagine there are lots of insects around. But it’s getting to the point she won’t go in the garden or even let me have the back door open incase a fly comes In.

I have previously just tried to be supportive, talked about how important bees are, talked about how they make us honey as she l loves honey on toast, got her some little soft toy fluffy bees and she says she likes bees now. Until we are outside and she sees one and she is hysterical. I mean really distressed!

It’s starting to really affect our lives, especially as the weather is warming up. I also have an 18m old boy who is all action and all go, who loves being outside. I’m now facing a summer of being stuck inside or searching for indoor activities which is just a total nightmare. Unless I can get this under control.

I’m not sure how to deal with it now as what I’m doing isn’t working and she is just getting worse!
