My 2 yr old DS was bitten about six months ago (really severely on the face). Since that day he has learnt he has another weapon in his arsenal and now he does it!
We went through a bad stage and we managed to get it under control. He has started pre-school and he has no behav probs at all. But we have now been to three ballparks recently and on each occasion it has ended with an irate mother shouting at me! (I might add that they think their LO is whiter than white when in fact they're little horrors).
Last episode, a hideous little kid kept smacking children in the faces and pushing them out/off of things. Quite a few mums were tut tutting but the of course the mother didn't do a thing. I was on high alert and when he went for DS I moved in but...a second too late, he sunk his teeth in. The mother went ballistic. I was really fed up - DS was absolutely wrong but he was highly provoked and I wish she could have acknowledged that.
I just don't know what on earth to do. I hate those bloody places and it is so hard to watch him all the time (I have two others with me too). I now have decided no more visits to ballparks but he loves them and that's where the majority of socialising round here is done.
How can I stop this? He knows he's wrong. Time out, telling off, firmness don't seem to make the slightest difference. Otherwise he's a good little boy. Has anyone successfully stopped it?
