Baby speech

Any tips on developing toddler speech? My LO can only reliably say 3 words (dada, ta, hiya) and I’m doing all the generic tips with repetitive words, talking at her constantly etc with no change?
We do a lot of singing and talking etc but it doesn’t seem to be doing much help.

Shes 16 going on 17 months now.

Have a look at the website Talking Point, they have some useful resources Smile

Hey! Have you tried flash cards? You can get them off amazon etc. a picture and then a simple word “duck, egg, car” etc. my little girl used to love them and she started copying the sounds the more we did them! X

Is the HV keeping an eye on her too @Daisydoodle10?

Hi @Daisydoodle10 do you have an update on where your daughter is at now? We are in the same boat with limited words (and limited consistency)

She’s 19 months now and she does say a handful of words appropriately - she can do some animal noises and other random bits but only a few consistent ones still! Health visitor wasn’t bothered at all 😬 I have found her understanding seems to be much much better which makes me feel better, she’s just not great at articulating it yet!
