Sleeping position!? - 1 year old...

My daughter has just turned 1 and has just started moving herself round into different positions when sleeping in her cot. Up until now she would sleep feet down at one end of the cot in a sleeping bag.

She now wriggles round and ends up sleeping across the width of the cot instead of length ways - her legs are usually stuck up in the air which is how she's always slept!

Is this safe - am worried about sleeping position/risks of cot death etc or am I being silly and will she just move herself around if she's not comfy etc!?...

SIDs advice is that after 6 mths, you can just let them find their own sleeping position (even if it looks uncomfortable to you!) So don't worry

My ds is 9 months and often wriggles til he's sleeping sideways accross his cot. I have a video monitor so I watch him do it but I just leave him to it

I know he wouldn't take kindly to me disturbing him and he sleeps so well! I used to worry like mad though but he's done it for a while now and is fine!

At 1 I wouldn't worry unless she's contorting herself so much her she's getting her sleeping bag (if she has one) wrapped round her neck. I've taken my 1yr old out of her grobag now as she likes to sleep up on her knees with her bum waving in the air and she was getting upset because it was twisting and tightening round her neck. If I move her she just rolls over and assumes the position again.
