Hi there we have soon to be 3 year old who seems to have flipped a switch overnight, after they had a cold.
His tantrums have become nuclear and takes forever to calm down. He always says he doesn’t like anything, refusing food, activities and everything. He’s also wanting to be carried everywhere as he says he can’t walk.
He’s in a phase of finding everything too loud, that being the kettle, out in public chatter around in a busy restaurant, his brother crying etc. and if there’s a bit of sun he can’t cope as it’s too bright.
He has become obsessed by the tv refusing to eat if it’s not on, will come through at 6am crying that he’s not watching it and the like. We have restricted it down as he gets obsessed by things and all he talks about is a particular programme or wanting the same song over and over again. You can’t even get in the car without him having a meltdown that a particular song isn’t on yet. And will just scream and cry if you put the radio on.
He goes to nursery twice a week and has been since he was 9months, and they’ve noticed the change and says he’s really emotional, teary and taking a long time to settle after these periods.
He doesn’t like to join in with other kids at softplay and will always stand back to let everyone else do something and won’t play on something if another child is on it….
Has anyone else gone through this with their child and has any tips on what we can do?

Wow that does sound extreme. I think a trip to the GP is in order to rule out any further infections but first have a read of this on PANS/PANDAS.
