Dishwasher terror

Is it OK to wash Dr Brown bottles (with all the fiddly bits) in the dishwasher? I sterilise them afterwards, but have tonight got myself panicking about milk-gunge build-up / dishwasher-chemical residue. LO is 3 months.

Should I worry, and consider rinsing bottles out after washing, and use little brush to clean fiddly bits, or just go to bed?

Thanks!

I don't have a dishwasher myself, but I have read on here many times that it's OK to wash bottles in the dishwasher. And you don't need to sterilise them afterwards as the hot water of the washer does that already.

Also I'm not sure about Dr Brown bottles...

Sorry this was rubbish advice.

I washed my ds' dr browns bottles in the dishwasher. I must admit I was terrified at first but my HV said it was fine. You'll be pleased to know he's still alive!

I washed them in the dish washer but poked the tiny bottle brush through the fiddly bits first then i sterilised them but hv said if you use a dish washer it wasnt necisary after about 6 months

Dylanthecat, that sounds very thorough and responsible. I just did that. I also rinsed the bottles just in case, then carefully loaded them in the steriliser. Then I made up some other freshly sterilised bottles in a v slapdash fashion, dropping a lid on to the kitchen floor and just blowing on it afterwards, for example.
