What is wrong?!

Hi,
Sorry for the long post I’m wondering if anyone can help?
My baby has just turned 11 weeks old and seems to have always had something wrong with her tummy. She is really gassy and often uncomfortable. We have tried everything infacol, dentinox and gripe water nothing seems to work. She was slightly constipated at around 8 weeks (not actually constipated it was normal when she went just took 3 days and she was super upset). She had antibiotics following her birth which she definitely didn’t need and I’m worried this has created some sort of tummy issue but nobody seems to be listening to me.

Over the past few days she has become inconsolable. Letting out high pitched screams constantly and crying a lot. She often stiffens herself out straightening her legs and turns her head to the side when she screams. She is breastfed and is becoming a bit more fussy during feeds but not a lot. She has gained weight really well even jumping up centiles to the 90th and the HV and dr are really happy with her weight gain. She sleeps really well on a night, a lot of the time going 6 hrs then waking for feed. However during the day in her wake windows she is always upset and uncomfortable it is horrible to watch and I’m worried that she might be missing out on developmental milestones as pretty much her entire wake window is me trying to soothe her.
GP is not that helpful as I mentioned before her having tummy issues and being really uncomfortable when pooing (she goes every other day) and they just prescribed laxatives which I haven’t used as I don’t think that will help the situation.
I did wonder about reflux as she spits up a lot and lots of the time it is thick and chunky although more recently it is like drool and milk.
I just feel like I am missing out on her and I’m feeling super guilty :(

That's purple crying. It get better in few weeks. If gp has prescribed laxatives, I would ask pediatrician for advice before deciding not to use them.

Do you know what your let down is like? Is she having to gulp a lot of because it’s too fast and therefore taking in a lot of air? Has she crossed centiles upwards? Can indicate over feeding which is more common in reflux as baby feeds to soothe the reflux. Re the constipation, was she actually passing firmer stool than normal or just left often? Very common for EBF babies not to go as regularly (mine was weekly).
As they absorb it all so less to excrete. Doesn’t need any laxatives.
I loathe to mention it as I think it’s a go to too often when it’s just a baby being a baby but have you considered eliminating dairy from your diet? Any eczema patches? Any family history of allergies?
Finally are you getting support ? If it is purple crying it can be so miserable until they grow out of it especially if you are EBF and the main comfort xxx

@Hereandthere2 Thanks for replying my letdown is really fast! She often pulls off gasping for air. Yep crossed centiles upwards, I think she is overfeeding because she’s uncomfortable. I have tried everything for this not too sure what else to do :(

Constipation was just longer periods between. Her stools are the same consistency still not firmer. I haven’t used the laxatives as I didn’t think it was proper constipation but she is uncomfy in between poos.

She does have a few patches of eczema but only since using the Aveeno cream, which I’ve now stopped, she hasn’t had it consistently. No family history do you think it could still be the case?

Lots of support thank you for checking in! Just so hard I feel like I don’t know what I’m doing anyway as a FTM and now I just feel a bit helpless I just want to help 🥺xxx

@MistyF How long does it last for?
Sorry I should’ve been more clear GP says for her to have laxatives if she goes more than 5 days without pooing but she’s going every other day and is just uncomfortable inbetween. Also when she goes she isn’t having constipated poo just having longer periods between but still not the 5 days that the GP suggested x
