5 month old started waking every 2 hours through the night

Hi all, just wondering if anyone can offer any advice.

My baby is 5 months old and within the past fortnight she has gone from just waking for just one feed during the night, to now waking roughly every two hours. Once I’ve fed her, she will go straight back down in her crib, I’m just wondering what may have caused the change and if there’s anything I can do about it, or is it a case of just waiting it out.
Also, when she initially goes to bed, I used to just feed her and put her in her crib and leave the room- I still do that but now it takes a good 45 mins to an hour of her dozing, spitting her dummy out and me having to go in and replace it before she goes over.
She generally goes to be bed about 6:30. I have tried putting her down later but she gets so overtired that it’s just a nightmare of her being very upset for over an hour so I really feel I have to stick to 6:30.

This is all probably just normal baby behaviour but I’m just wondering what could have caused such a sudden change.

She is breastfed, is 5 months old exactly and naps pretty well through the day (approx 3-4 naps a day). She has a dummy that I only give her for nap time/sleep time

thanks in advance!

How often are you feeding her in the day? Gave you tried offering every two hours to try and tank her up?

Hi- so I feed on demand but generally if she hasnt asked, I offer about every two hours through the day.
She is a big baby though- on the 85th percentile and very long.
I’ve been advised by family to give her baby rice or rusk and milk before bed but I don’t know if that’s old fashioned advice!

Yes it is quite old fashioned and not what I'd do.

I don't think gluten is advised before 6 months? Each rusk seems to contain a full teaspoon of sugar too so might spike her blood sugar levels making her wake more.

Baby rice has little nutritional value too. It's basically gloop.

I'd try some Breast Compressions and maybe the No Cry Sleep Solution along with a lot of cake and coffee for you on the day Flowers

She probably going through sleep regression.
Try to not rush straight to her when she wakes and let her fall asleep. If room is dark and she's not too unsettled, she might fall asleep naturally. Though, since you're using dummy, you probably need to put dummy in her mouth every time it falls off.

Keep in mind, by ages 4 to 7 they need 2-3 naps
I would drop a nap and make her sleep longer during the day nap
