2 years old tantrums

My child is 2.5 years old and is going through a really bad tantrum phase. Right now everything has to be a tantrum. It's so embarrassing when I take him out, even to families houses. My sister the other day said...this is happening because you used to say to other kids be quiet. Honestly people really know how to wind you up.

But because of what people think, I'm so embarrassed to go out with him in case they think I'm a useless mother that can't control my child.

Does anyone else child this age have tantrums, and tips please

It's perfectly natural for people to look if a child is screaming. I think we do it to check that the child isn't in danger.

But you can't read people's minds and have absolutely no idea what they're thinking when they look. I'm usually thinking something along the lines of "thank god we're well past that stage" Wink

Do take him out and don't be embarrassed.

See if you can get a copy of Little Angels which should help reduce tantrums.

And I would also do this simple SLT progress checker just to check to see if his tantrums are due to frustration related to communication Flowers

Thank you for the advice and recommendations. I will check them out.

I do think most of his tantrums are due to him not being able to talk properly yet and trying to communicate with us. I will look at the check list.
