18 month old not speaking

Hi,

My 18 month old dd is not speaking yet she has said mumma and dada but not regularly. She is intrested in books when I read to her and will often get a book and sit and look through it herself but will not point at things when i'm naming them. She also doesn't copy noises but like to listen to them when made. She is bright in other ways but i'm concerned...did anyone else have this with their children?

I am experiencing the exact same with my 18 month old, loves books will flick through page by page, will even run her finger beneath the letters as if she is reading but won’t speak a word or copy a sound. Interested to hear if anyone else has had previous experiences and how their LO’s progressed?
