She is so wriggly and active. how do you bf older babies when they're like this? I have been v comfortable at publicly bfing, but she's pulling off all the time for a gawk at what's happening or a wee crawl around my lap before making a dive (literally) for my nipple!

been through this with dd1, who grew out of it and going through it now with dd2, who i'm hoping will grow out of it. ime there isn't a foolproof solution. you can buy beads or hang bright scarves over your shoulder to try to capture their attention but, well, you know what babies are like. they have short attention spans and minds of their own!

My 6mo DD does this too and has since about 4 months. I've never been comfortable with public bf as a result of this as everyone gets a good eyefull. Literally sometimes as she gets the milk going then bobs off, milk squirts all over her face and me, anyone else if they are next to me. I then have a huge wet patch down my top. I only bf at home and with other mother and baby groups I know well. No advice, just empathy
