My Daughter is nearly 8 and she has ZERO empathy, and doesn't really care about others.
It's always been apparent, but particularly so yesterday when I had a sick bug. She walked out of the room once I was sick and didn't come back to see me once. My youngest (4), came straight in, in her nurses outfit and brought me toilet roll, wipes, water and made me a little space to get better in. She kept coming in to see how I was.
There is just such a massive contrast in behaviours.
How can I go about helping her learn some empathy, as I'm worried this might affect her negatively later on in life! Appreciate she's not going to completely change, but maybe just a tad?
