DD is 5 and is in her first year of Kindergarten. At parents evening lat October the teacher mentioned DD was finding it difficult to make friends and didn’t participate in group activities.
I’ve noticed recently whenever I see her at school, she is always with the teacher or teaching assistant. For example, in the Fastnacht parade all her classmates were running around throwing confetti, but DD was glued to the TA’s side. Another time they got off the bus after a trip, the kids got off and ran to the classroom together to get their bags. DD got off the bus and waited for her teacher, then walked with her.
She seems happy at school and gets invited to parties etc. She doesn’t seem keen on inviting anyone to ours for a playdate and spends most of her free time with big brother.
Is there anything I can do to help her? Has anyone else had a child who did this?
