16mo becoming more attached to dummy

Is this normal?

Prior to now, my 16mo only ever had her dummy for sleep/naps and if she was really upset when out and about. Now she's gotten to the point if she sees a dummy anywhere she will immediately pop it into her mouth and just keep it in her mouth all day long. She will scream if I take off her. She also asks for it a lot especially for sleep whereas when she was younger she could fall asleep without it. I'm getting worried that she is becoming more and more attached to the dummy instead of the other way round. What should I do, should I just nip it in the bud now? Should I hide the dummies and only bring them out at nap time? I do want to wean her off them completely by the time before she's about 2.

Also if it helps I think she is teething and beginning to cut her molars so I don't know if that is impacting this.

Out of sight, out of mind! I’d keep them tucked away and keep your toddler distracted to take their mind off the dummy.
