19 month old can walk but doesn't

My son started walking last month, when he was just 18 months. For months it had been worrying me he wasn't walking. He would happily run whilst holding his walker & cruise furniture. Also hold my hand & walk but nothing unassisted. Anyway he just got up one evening, did 3 laps of the living room, & for a few days after that he was interested but now he just crawls everywhere, or will only walk holding my hand. We can sometimes encourage him to walk from one of us to the other but only if he's in the mood which often he's not! I am not sure whether to be worried or not that he clearly can do it but isn't. I've bought him shoes but it makes no difference. Any experience welcome.

He’s 19 months old, and they are “here there and everywhere” when it comes to things like this. Some days they will, some days they won’t.

take him to the park and plonk him on the path, just to see what he does. Will get get up and walk? Will be crawl?

if you are concerned, speak to their health provider and see what they say.

hugs x
