baby with nosebleeds

My 10 month old baby boy has had a couple of spontaneous nosebleeds over the weekend.
I am not concerned but was just a bit surprised as I had never seen a baby with a bleeding nose.
Anyone had this happen to their babies?

My dd2 sufered from this a lot when she was younger, especially during the night. We used to wake up in the morning to see her looking like a murder victim. We took her to the doctor who said the veins in her nose were very fine and easily broken at this age, even as easily as putting her finger up it! He prescribed a cream for her to use to see if it improved, which your gp might do too if this continues. A last resort is to have the veins cauterised, but we didn't need to go this way as she has slowly outgrown them now (she was 6 yesterday), and maybe has only 1 every 9 months. I would be surprised if it was anything serious. Good luck though!

Does your baby have a cold? Sometimes irritation can cause vessels to bleed. Are fingers going inquisitively up the old nostrils?
No other suggestions - hope it passes soon. Haven't experience of nosebleeds in a baby of this age. Had toddlers with nosebleeds which stopped spontaneously.

yes he does in fact have a cold, but has not had any more nosebleeds since the weekend.

Hasn't slept much either
