So, before anyone rushes in, no he is not starving, but he will not stop part way through a bottle to be winded. Since he was born, if you try to stop a bottle to wind him, he will scream and cry until you give him the bottle back, but he is getting worse with it.

I always get him his food and a bottle ready before he starts (well within the 4 hours since his last meal), so he never actually asks for food but if he sees his bottle he will scream and cry real tears for it, so I have to hide it whilst I'm trying to wean him. He is definitely not starving, having just had a large bowl of porridge for breakfast and veggies and a pudding for other meals, he just REALLY wants that bottle. He also sleeps from about 9pm through till 7 or 8am and he wouldn't do that if he hadn't had enough to eat through the day.

Any ideas as its heartbreaking to hear him so upset over it.

So, just let him drink the whole bottle, then wind him?!
I really don't see the issue.

He's fine to have his bottle as often as he wants it, surely? Does he really need winding halfway through at his age, or is that just a habit you've kept up?

It won't interfere with weaning to let him have his bottle, but if you want, you could give him the same bottle with water and see how he likes that?
