Hey everyone

I have concerns for my almost 11 months old development. He has recently started crawling and pulling to stand and has been doing it like a pro now. However I am worried about his communication skills. He hasn’t copied my gestures till now of waving and pointing. He claps though , but again whenever he wants he does or sometimes he copies me .

What he does right now

  • Raises arms to be picked
  • Smiles back and forth laugh
  • Claps , but not doing since 2-3 days
  • Imitates coughing
  • Always alert when I enter or leave room
  • Responds to name
  • Crawling like a pro
  • Passes things a lot to me when I ask
  • Trying to stand these days

Concerns

  • Babbling - no proper words till now ( He keeps saying mama though)
  • Waving, pointing and blowing kisses awaited. (When I try to teach him he’s looking at my gestures, but looses interest and starts doing other things)
  • I show him Ms Rachel . Can Screen time be a concern? I have to show him as I am alone with him while my husband is onboard.
  • No teeth yet

I really don’t know whether he’s focused on his motor skills right now. But he has become a stalker for sure . He keeps following me everywhere and won’t leave me. He sees me only around him most of the times may be that’s why. He’s very attached to my father whenever he comes he gets very excited and is super comfortable with him. But he won’t go to others easily.

I am just looking for a few suggestions and what were other people experiences. I still have to visit his paediatrician for his vaccination , will share my concerns to him.

It’s overwhelming to see other kids of his age doing so much . I know comparison is a thief, but I have anxiety issues and staying alone it has gotten really out of control for me to an extent that I am unable to eat.

Your DS may or may not be completely normal, it's really difficult to see anything glaringly amiss from what you've posted, he sounds like a lot of other babies of this age.

What does need attention though is your anxiety. It's not good for him or you to he so anxious. Have you received any support for this so far?

When you see your Paediatrician, do they ask you to do the 12 month Ages & Stages?
