My 15 month old daughter is my absolute world. Since she was born however parenting has been really hard. She had severe reflux for first 7 months of her life which she was hospitalised for. She use to cry sometimes for 7+ hours a day. Thankfully she no longer cries this much now however it does feel like she still cries a fair bit for no obvious reason. She has also never really shown a huge interest in solids so getting her to eat a variety of things can be a challenge. She likes porridge, toast, sandwiches, baby crisps/wafers, gnocchi and pasta but if I put vegetables or anything more unusual in it she will just spit it out.
She is an extremely active and inquisitive little girl, keen to explore her surroundings. She pulls herself up on everything but can’t yet walk unless holding my hand. She can walk with a walker but one foot tends to always be slightly tip toe. She does smile and laugh if I smile at her or sing and she does respond to her name unless she is focused on something else and then she’ll ignore.
She can’t yet wave, point, or understand any instructions. She can’t follow a point and she won’t try and find things if we hide them. She does babble but doesn’t show any signs of making any clear words. It does seem like she cries more than most other children her age and it’s usually not for a clear reason. She does play happily with her toys but doesn’t engage in two way play with us. lots of her toys she doesn’t play with as they should be played with because I think she doesn’t understand them.
I don’t know if I am worrying unnecessarily. Everything I google seems to bring me to autism. Which I appreciate is not usually diagnosed in children under 2.
