My 10 yr old grandson is talking to a "girl" on PlayStation, she sd she's same age but I'm worried as messages between them are I want to do things to you will you let me and things along these lines
We've tried to find her real name but it's blocked
I'm worried it's not a young girl but a groomer
The whole thing is very worrying
He also keeps door shut and screams if we enter the room
Any advice will help me sort this out as I don't know where to begin x

Sorry if I’m missing something but surely the answer here is to take the play station away? Even if it is a 10 year old girl (which I doubt it is) at 10 years old they should not be having these inappropriate conversations. He doesn’t get to scream when you enter his room, he’s 10, he needs boundaries. PlayStation goes into the living room and no internet allowed on it.

I'm with you the play station should be took away and I've suggested this many times but the back story is my daughter n partner split up 2 years ago as he was abusing her
The children still see their dad and adore him even though they witnessed much more then they should have
My grandson misses his dad badly and has developed lots problems which we got in touch with social services and they were no help at all
We've tried setting boundaries but he screams and smashes his room
He's under the dr but all they can offer is counselling
What i really want to know is there anyway of finding out if it is a girl he's talking to

The only way to find out would be to try set up a video call. Maybe with her parents too if it is a child…
but I do think it needs to go. It’s likely the heavy screen time and whatever he is on is making the behaviour worse.
if I was in that position and it was too hard to set boundaries due to outbursts I would unplug the internet and give the lead to someone to take away. Or even go to the extreme of cutting the lead (and say it accidentally broke) complete reset so the internet can be re introduced slowly with boundaries. May be extreme but a child’s safety is priority. If he’s keeping door shut and screaming when people come in a lot worse could go on

Grandson won't give us girls name so all we can see is her screen name
We've looked for her real name but it's blocked
I agree I would have launched the play station months ago but my daughter is to stressed to deal with his screaming and smashing up the home
She also has 8 year old daughter who is witnessing all this.
