He quite often buys me flowers when he comes home from work as I like to have fresh flowers in the kitchen window and our daughter always seems to show interest in them.
When my husband dropped her off at nursery yesterday, the head of nursery took him to one side to tell him how pleased she is with Lucy. She said that she always say's please and thank-you and is so helpfull and caring. My Husband was over the moon, and that evening when he came home from work he was holding a bouquet of flowers in pink and lilak. When he told Lucy they were for her she got sooo excited. It was the sweetest thing I've seen for a long time. They are now in her bedroom and loves them. I just wanted to share that with you really, as I'd never think to buy a 3 year old flowers. I feel so lucky to have such a lovely Husband and daughter.

That's really sweet. Maybe you could press a couple or dry some so that she will always have them.

EHM · 07/05/2008 17:50

aww how sweet made me smile too

2point4kids · 07/05/2008 17:51

Good idea to press a couple and save them in her memory book/box

janeite · 07/05/2008 17:51

Wow - that is so lovely. A (male) friend of dp's bought dd1 flowers when she was about 6 and she was bowled over by it.

thornrose · 07/05/2008 17:52

That's brought a lump to my throat, how very sweet and how lucky she is to have such a thoughtful dad, and you such a lovely husband.

squeaver · 07/05/2008 17:52

When I was in hospital after having dd, someone sent me a lovely bunch of flowers and a little posy (posey sp?) for her. I thought that was very sweet. We took a photo of it for her and she always mentions it whenever we talk about the people who did it.

thornrose · 07/05/2008 17:55

Now I've said how nice it is may I just add...I'M SO JEALOUS , ah, that feels a bit better.

MerlinsBeard · 07/05/2008 17:58

squeaver · 07/05/2008 18:00

Sorry I also meant to say, am very jealous of you. Don't know when I last got flowers not related to Val's day/mothers' day - if ever!

Anna8888 · 07/05/2008 18:00

My partner bought a bunch of lily of the valley for our daughter (3.6) on 1 May. She was terribly pleased

eenybeeny · 07/05/2008 18:01

aaaaahhh that is lovely!!!!! Your DH sounds like a sweetie and a keeper! Happy for you!

Dragonbutter · 07/05/2008 18:04

That's lovely.

youknownothingofthecrunch · 07/05/2008 18:04

Just read that to my husband

He protests that we have boys, but when he asked ds2 if he'd like flowers there was animated nodding

noddyholder · 07/05/2008 18:06

so sweet.she will measure all future boyfriends against this high bar

edam · 07/05/2008 18:18

good point, noddy!

Your dh is clearly a doting father and quite right too. Bet she remembers this even when she's grown up.

lucyellensmum · 07/05/2008 18:32

thats lovely to read mml. Such a sweet thing to do - you are very lucky. Not sure my DP would think to do that, me either - i think its a lovely thing to do - my DP is great too though, so not complaining.

awwww, i feel all gooey inside

mummyloveslucy · 07/05/2008 19:28

Yes I'll definatly press some of the flowers to put in her memory box. That's a great idea.

Meandmyjoe · 07/05/2008 20:53

Awww, that's so sweet. It has actually given me hope that the baby stage passes and there is a child at the end of the very long babyhood tunnel! Your little girl sounds such a sweetheart. How lovely of your dh though, let him know how special he is too!
