My daughter is 2y 10 months. She is defo gna be an only child so i am conscious she'll need a lot of social interaction / ability to make friends

I have joined her in a number of activities such a gymnastics and dancing and am determined for her to keep them up. She just doesnt listen in them runs about by herself refuses to join in. I k ow she's a baby but so are the other children in the class

Any tips?

I know it can be worrying when they don't listen and run around looking at you DS.

Do you take her to any less formal activities like a Playgroup? Mine used to like going to playgroup and playing with all of the different toys. She's a bit young for playing with other DC yet but might start to play alongside.

Our library has things like story time and it's free so your library might be worth checking out too.

Don't worry too much about her being on her own just yet though. Until they're 3 they learn their social skills from watching you interact with others. Maybe an excuse to invite some family or friends over at the weekend? Wink

I take my 2 year old to baby gymnastics with my friend and her 3 year old and neither of the kids follow instruction, they just do open play, which is allowed. We thought it was pretty normal for their age!
