my little one has a larger than average head size 94th centile (2 YO now, had mild Ventriculomegaly pre-natal which resolved itself at Birth, we had micro-array genetic testing due to this which came back normal. He has developed really well and interestingly more developed than my 4 year old who didn’t have this ongoing previously.
in himself he’s great but one thing that got me worried was that he has a cafe au lait spot (since he was small) and it got me worrying about NF1.
from what I can tell 1 or 2 birthmarks are not a marker, and me and his mother also have cafe au lait spots and larger than average heads - we have been consultant led but discharged as they had no further concerns.
part of me still worries a lot, especially as a recent friend’s 9 year old recently discovered they had a brain tumour.
i think this in itself might have sparked the anxiety in me.
