I hope I’m in the right area. I have a six year old girl who up to now has been a dream. About a year ago, she got a lump on her groin (I have no idea if this is significant or not but said I would add). After many, many investigations, about 6 antibiotics that didn’t clear it and three hospital admissions, the lump was removed and a biopsy was still inconclusive.
in the very same week that the lump appeared, she (then just gone 5) started to say she didn’t want to wear leggings anymore because they were itchy. I really thought it was all in her head and once they were on she seemed to forget about it and went on with her day. When summer came, she chose dresses every day and avoided leggings and sometimes socks. In September when she started school, I got her jogger pants that she seemed to have no issue with and fleece lined leggings which were on the bigger side for outside school. All was fine apart from a little avoidance if things were washed etc but in general it didn’t pose too many problems.
we had a lovely Christmas at home. She was so happy and spent loads of time with her cousins. She is so sociable and a happy little thing. Nothing has really ever caused us concern any more.
When she went back to school after Christmas, she didn’t want to wear her uniform. It started with the socks, then a day or two later the jogging pants, then the half zip top which had never ever been a problem before. Now, three weeks in, she is completely refusing all clothes. It is a nightmare to get her dressed and so stressful to try and get clothes on her. She is distressed and crying and it is just so extreme considering it escalated SO quickly. Every day is worse than the last. It’s unbearable.
otherwise, we really can’t spot anything else that is unusual. She loves school, is friends with everyone, loves music, swimming and gymnastics (but this sensory issue is going to cause a huge problem here in terms of getting changed etc.)
Any advice would be so much appreciated as we are totally desperate and don’t know what to do.
