My DD is 4 months and doesn't have loads of hair but a fine covering, however everytime I pick her up in the morning or from a nap I notice lots of hairs all over her matress and also on the back of her clothes during the day.

I was looking at some photos of her when she was 2-3 months old and there is a marked difference in how much hair she now has.. is this normal? Or should I take her to the docs?

Yes it's very normal. DS went totally bald at around 6 months and his hair grew back much darker and thicker.

it happened to my ds - he literally woke up one morning with his hair beside him in the moses basket. I phoned my HV in a panic - (true PFB symptoms!!) who said yes, it happened sometimes. - phew!

Happened to my DD too. She had lots of spikey brownish-red hair when she was born. Lost that at around 4-5 months, had a crew-cut style at six months (someone actually asked me if I'd cut it and now has lots of lovely blonde hair.

same here, ds lost all his hair up until about 18 months when he sprouted a mohawk type / David beckham hairstyle. He is now 2.5 and has a full head of hair.

DD looked like a monkey at birth, she was literally covered in dark hair. At around 3 months it started to fall out, and her sheet would have a layer of hair on it. She looked like a monk, only the bottom didn't fall out! She's 9 months now, and it's all grown back. It's a shade or two lighter, but not that much.

Very normal, my ds actually had quite a bit of dark hair when he was first born, he looked gorgeous! By three months I noticed it was getting thinner, particularly at the back. It grew back though, a lot thicker but slightly lighter. He has lovely hair now at 9 months but was nearly totally bald at 4 months, with just a punky bit on top!
