Hi
Any advise on best time to give bath to 6 week old?
Books say before night feed, but she only wakes up to be fed, there is no way l can wake her and then not feed her she would scream the house down.
Been feeding at 5 pm, bath in between feed, but then she hasn't settled, little feed at 8pm and then she sleeps till 1am, which l think is to long for such a little baby.

Please help, first time terrified mum

Chibeth - You may find that if you put her in the water she'll forget about food.

wouldn't worry at that age personally

just bath them when they're awake and happy - could be in the morning or afternoon.

i didn't start getting into a night time routine till about 3 months i think

Agree with harpomarx, we realised that we were actually having to wakeds to bath and feed him. It didn't seem to make sense at such a young age. We ended up bathing him in the morning instead til he was about 16 weeks when he was awake for more in the day and we wanted a bedtime routine. It's so hard at 6 weeks to know what to do and what time to do it! It will calm down and you can get a routine in place that suits you and her. Also, sleeping from 8-1 is fine at this age even if she's only having a little feed at 8pm. She will tell you when she's hungry. Don't panic, sounds like you're doing great!

They don't need a bath that often anyway at that age really. Just find a time that works for you both. Topping and tailing is fine too.

just give them a quick sponge down when you change a nappy. agree with others when they are awake more you will be able to get into a bath time routine.
