Just wondering if your child can tell the time?

On analogue?

On Digital?

What age are they?

Can they tell you how long it is until their tea time or bed time or what time to get up or go to bed?

Did you teach them or did they learn at school?

The reason I am asking is that my DS is a newly qualified senior school teacher and has worked in 2 schools over the last few years.

His more experienced colleagues say the same thing so it isn't just the children messing about for my DS

The children can't seem to tell the time or how to work out how the clocks tell them the time

So I wondered how these children had got to year 8 and 9 without understanding clocks both digital and analogue

Have parents stopped showing the children how clocks work and how to tell the time?

Is it all done by asking Alexa what time it is?

So parents don't bother teaching their children about clocks or watches?

My son can tell the time he is 7.
And yes he can tell how long it is until bed time etc that is how I taught him. Explained how hands on the clock work.
Although recently his maths homework also has questions showing hands on the clock with phrases questioned like it is half past or :30. Or showing the hands on the clock and says it is 7:_
So they do seem to be learning in school also.
Although I've noticed a lot of people don't have analog clocks in their house anymore
