Toddler - walking practice

Hi, our toddler is late to walk due to issues with her feet, however .. we bought some reins to try and help with balance and yesterday she walked 10 steps completely on her own, without reins.... But she doesn't know she did this as she thought we were holding the reins.

She hasn't done it again (won't tolerate the reins 99% of the time)..

Is it common for them to have the ability to walk but not the confidence / be aware they're able to?!!

Thanks

That was certainly the case with our first. You could try things like putting a couple of toys on the sofa and standing them up against the sofa to play with them. This gives staring practice and you could hold out chocolate something they like to see if they'll take a step towards you?
