Our little girl keeps wriggling around on the sofa when she's watching a film, we've tried telling her its a private thing to do , but she loves doing it, & finds it hard to stop! We don't want to make a big deal out of it for obvious reasons, but have told her that its not something she should do e.g at other peoples houses.
any ideas on how to get it under control without making her think its dirty or shameful?

My daughter, 2.5 has been rubbing against carpet for ages now, fortunately not all the time, mostly when tired, gets red in the face & grunts at times, does not like to be stopped.
I stopped worrying when I read somewhere on here of similar behavior in a couple of other children & that they grew out of it. I am clinging to that!

My dd, now 5, went through a similar phase and it was just that - a phase. If i caught her doing it, I just asked her to please stop it because it isn't nice. It grew less frequent and now to my knowledge has stopped.
