26 Month old, throwing & defensiveness

I know throwing is completely normal.

I’m basically after advice about once my son has thrown something at me, he sees me say ouch and slightly hurt if it’s a big object. He then reacts massively throwing and trashing anything in site.

I don’t scold as I know it’s not intentional and I try to reason the best I can about why we shouldn’t throw.

But he becomes extremely defensive gets a very sour look on his face. I guess I just don’t know how to handle the situations the best way and need any advice?

I worry about how big his reactions are after seeing I’m not pleased/slightly hurt. He’s not particularly difficult in anyway and I don’t usually raise my voice at all with him.

Thank you
