Hi!
My little boy (3 months old) hates tummy time and play time on his mat!
He's had reflux and a hernia repair, so understandably doesn't like tummy time, even now the reflux is under control and hernia repair has healed. I still try to do a little bit of tummy time but he tends to put his head on the floor and cries :(
When on his back on his play mat, he cries too. He doesn't tend to grab for toys or show a huge interest in any toys above or around him.
I have put a wedge under his head so he isn't lying flat and lie with him or above him to try to encourage play.
Sometimes he does engage with toys and will reach out to grab, but that is generally when he's sat upright on mine or my husband's knee.
I am worried as the health visitor has done a development review for him and he has scored low in communication and gross and fine motor skills.
Has anyone else experienced this or have some tips on how to encourage play?
