DS does not like Mummy!

Hi All

My DS is 20 months and is a serious Daddy/Nanny's boy.

When we are alone he is fine with me and we have cuddles etc; however when DH or MIL is there I am ignored - to the point he even looks at me and says no!! and walks over and holds DH's leg.

When I go anywhere he is really sweet and says bye bye - when Daddy goes he has a screaming fit

When he wakes in the night he will often (although not always) call for Daddy.

I work 3 days per week and Nanny (MIL) has him one of those days.

He is a bit like this with my parents but does not see them as often (they live a long way away) so it is hard to compare

I am really afraid he does not love Mummy - what have I done wrong?

It actually means you've done everything right -he has such a secure bond with you that he's relaxed about leaving you. Those he sees less of and is less secure of will be treated the opposite. Cherish your moments alone and get on with jobs/relaxing when others are there!

That is reassuring -it can be very disheartening when I go into him and he turns his back and says "Nooooooo Daddy"

It would be nice sometimes to think me might miss me! As you say though it is a good excuse to make DH do all the work

Agree with luckylady. He sees you as a fixture. Your company is never in doubt, never rationed. You are, part of his furniture!! His sense of himself is probably so tied up with you that he thinks you and he are the same, and other people are new people iyswim..

My friend's DS was just about permanently clamped to either her boob or her leg for the first 3 years...sounds like you have it sussed!
