What is my 17mo DS saying?!

Our son has been a great talker, by 12 months he was able to use about 35 words and now he has many more and has recently started linking words together e.g. “juice please”.

Some of his words aren’t pronounced properly but I know what he means - duice instead of juice, anana instead of banana etc.

The last week or so he’s been using the word “Day-doh”?? Or maybe “Day-toe”?? He’s using it a lot and seems frustrated that I don’t know what he means.

He got a play kitchen and various food accessories for Xmas, I wondered if it was potato or tomato but don’t think that’s right. He’s never played with play-dough so don’t think it’s that.

Any ideas?

Play doh?

Context might help. Where does he tend to say it (kitchen, lounge, out and about?), time of day, what's he doing?

Play doh?

So sorry I misread the last part of your post! Any chance your little one played with play doh at nursery or a family members house?

Defo sounds like play doh to me
