11 month old not babbling

My 11 month old still isn’t babbling or saying any words he is a very quiet baby he will have a occasional scream whilst playing but no Manama sounds, he doesn’t clap or wave yet but he does do high fives, gives kisses try’s to share his food when asked, plays peekaboo with a blanket. He was crawling at 7 months and is very close to taking a few steps I think and he plays with his toys very well. I have been worrying about his speech as he still isn’t babbling and he doesn’t always respond to his name. He first tooth has only just came through. I have been researching early autism signs and although these are a sign he gives good eye contact, he doesn’t have any form of stimming or sensory issues he loves his food and he has hit all his other milestones. Has anyone else just had a quiet baby I’m thinking might he have a speech delay or is he just quiet we read and sign and talk to him all day long and he is always laughing and playing with us but it’s just such a worry that I’m not doing enough and it’s so hard to not compare to other babies who are now all saying words. I know some people say you get a walker or a talker but I’m not sure if this is actually a real thing.

Ok so the HV should ask you to fill in the 12 month Ages & Stages assessment. Don't he too worried if she scored grey in the communication section as the forms are designed so that most will get grey in two areas.

@TinyMouseTheatre we have got the forms and he scores highly in all the other parts but would be in the dark grey for the communication area
