Hi all!
DD is now 3 (although was 3 months prem so technically not really 3 until Feb!)
She is perfectly inline with all milestones and development etc however we are having a really bad time of not being willing to share and I’m finding it really draining!
She doesn’t tend to snatch off other kids but if they have something she wants to just shouts and cries ‘mine’ constantly and she’s so loud and disruptive with it!

Any advice? Is this normal?

Frustrating isn't it? Ask Dr Sears has a good article on sharing here.

Do you play some simple board games with her too? They usually encourage sharing. I used to look out for Orchard Games in the local charity shops .

And I know she's on track with her milestones but I'd still do this simple progress checker as language can play such an important part.

Have you got any story books on sharing too? If not, your local library should have some appropriate ones Wink

I remember with my oldest realising we had a huge breakthrough when she saw a drinks bottle the same as hers and she said "that's like mine" rather than "that's mine" and acting as though the other child had pinched hers (even though she was holding her own one sometimes!)

I'd go for remove from place. Explain it isn't hers and praise for sharing when it happens. That is how they learn/
