My baby used to coo and babble. I’ve just realised she’s completely stopped. I’ve been experiencing postnatal depression so this might have influenced it but whenever she made sounds my partner and I always used to repeat them back to her. Can anyone help: advise? I don’t know how to encourage her to talk other than just talking to her the whole time but she doesn’t look at me when feeding.

Is she concentrating on something else at the moment - rolling, sitting crawling etc? I always found that mine went through silent phases when they were learning something else.

Don't make this something else to beat yourself up with - that won't help the PND at all. We're all just doing our best each day with what we've got, no baby has some mythical "perfect" mother xx

Thanks. No she’s not she doesn’t like tummy time and has shown no interest in rolling. Shes so placid…

@Gleedom My 12 month old DD did the same as your baby. Suddenly went so, so quiet. By 7 months she had more than made up for it. She found her voice again. She doesn’t shut up now and at 12 months is saying “Peppa” for Peppa pig, says “Hiya” to greet people, constantly says “Mama” too.

I remember a few months back being so worried.
