6.5 month old so grumpy

DD has never been a happy baby. She smiles, laughs and squeals alot, but we also have ALOT of whining. Its all day long. The last 3 months she has been moaning constantly, gets bored very quickly, fights every sleep, doesn't nap for longer than 30 mins. Is this normal? I'm starting to worry there is a deeper issue here. I've never had a meal in almost 7 months without some level of whining/crying. I am drained. She doesn't have cmpa but does have a little bit of reflux.

Is she on medication for the reflux? I have CMPA which gives me some reflux like symptoms and it can be truly miserable.

@TinyMouseTheatre no she's not. We tried gaviscon and omeprazole but it made her so much worse

That's such a shame. It must be wearing when she's so grumpy. My first was a crier but grew out of out and now they're much older and have a lovely, calm personality.

Ours turned out to be Tongue Tie causing the reflux and misery Flowers

@TinyMouseTheatre she had a tongue tie which was fixed at 6 weeks. I'm just so drained. We tried for 5 years for her and this is not what I imagined it would be like.

I can totally sympathise. DC1 nearly broke me. Have you had her checked to see if the TT has come back? There was a thread on here recently where this was the issue.

There is a list of Tongue Tie Practitioners here.

I would recommend doing this progress checker too, just to make sure that all that whinging is just her practicing her language skills Wink

@TinyMouseTheatre her tongue tie hasn't come back, we had it checked to rule out the cause of her grumpiness. I just don't know what to do anymore. Everyone elses babies seem so calm and happy and mine is like a whirlwind!

It's so difficult when you think that everyone else has a smiley baby but comparison really is the thief of joy.

Not only was DC1 an horrendous crier but he didn't crawl until 11 months and I had some very unhelpful comments. Luckily crawling has since been removed from the milestones for development.

One thing that might help is the is the No Cry Nap Solution. I found that cracking the naps really did help Flowers
