32 month old toddler bad meltdowns

Good morning all.

I hope we are all well.

I am hoping for advice or guidance.

My 32 month old daughter all of a sudden over the last week is having really bad meltdowns. The main cause is when she has woken up from a sleep but they have also happened randomly during the day.

When my daughter has these meltdown there is nothing that we can do to cheer her up or distract her. We try suggesting activities to do, things to eat or anything that usually makes her happy but it usually just resorts to her dad holding onto her and cuddling her for 30/40 minutes and her just crying and saying “no” or “daddy” repeatedly.

Nothing has changed in her usual routine and we have no other concerns other than she is extremely clingy with her father and she does not allow me any time with her when her father is around. Her father does try to help and encourage her but she is not interested and hell breaks loose if he tries to leave the room, he doesn’t even get to go to the toilet alone!. Which I feel awful about as he works all day and does not get a second on his own.

i look forward to your replies.

Could she have a bug? If the meltdowns have just been fit a week I'd try her with a dose of Calpol before breakfast and see if her mood improves.
