Hii all!
I just want to pick everyone's brains. My health visitor has been less useful than a chocolate fire guard.
So, my little one has always been a good sleeper and we haven't had any issues really until just after the clocks turned back.
We noticed he stopped going down as easy, he now wants to hold our hand until he nods off could this be separation anxiety? Before this he was always one of them blessed individuals that would be pretty much asleep as soon as his head touched his bed. Since the clocks have changed he started waking up a few times in the night.
Initially I thought perhaps it was the time change so we have brought his bedtime forward which helped for a week but then he started waking up in the night again.
He seems to be hungry. Cuddles, nappy changes, holding his hand won't suffice and he wants a little bit of milk. He has a great appetite in the day and tends to clear most of his plates. At the moment he's waking up for a feed twice a night! The nursery always comment on how good an eater is so I don't really think he's not getting enough in the day and he always tells us when h s had enough food.
He has more or less dropped to one nap now, on a rare occasion he might have 2 naps but it is mostly down to 1 so I'm not sure if he could be overtired at the moment. When being put down for naps and bedtimes he does go down quite quickly it's just these wake ups that are throwing me through a loop.
Is there something I am doing wrong or is this just a normal growth spurt/development phase. He's picking up words and things really quickly at the moment, does that mean his little brain is processing lots currently and this sleep disturbance is to be expected and will pass at some point?
Sorry for the essay I hope that is enough information i've tried all sorts of tweaks to no avail. So now it's time to get the big guns in and speak to you wonderful lot on Mumsnet.
