CMPA or oversupply/ fast let down?

Has anyone ever suspected CMPA but its turned out to be caused by an oversupply/baby gulping too much air?
Baby is 3 ½ weeks old and showing classic CMPA symptoms. Large belly, passing lots of gas, screams in agony most of her waking times, reflux, projectile vomiting, struggles to control the flow of milk as its spurting out so fast so she's gulping/ pulling off the boob screaming, she's difficult to wind, I'm trying infacol at the moment. My last daughter was allergic to cows milk and soya.
If the symptoms are caused by oversupply/ fast let down how did you resolve it? Can't stand doing this all over again 😔 baby is so unhappy and it's really hard 😔

I think some people try hand-expressing a little before a feed, to get past that first rush before feeding baby. Not entirely easy to fit that in around a newborn, though!

When my second was being investigated for similar symptoms, we had something like a 30-40 minute appointment with the infant feeding specialist to watch a full feed and try tweaking positioning, latch, etc. as well as checking tongue-tie. It didn't do the trick in our case – she needed omeprazole – but worth a try if your area has it. A paid IBCLC might do something similar, but I've never used one.
