I have seen from other threads that the walkers they sit in are not really liked on MN but was wondering whether anyone had used them and if anyone could recommend a good walker?

I'm not sure whether to get a sit in one, one of those trolley type ones that come with bricks or activity centres or one of those 6-in-1 type things that turn into bikes.

What do you wise mums recommend??

Ta!

PS will check responses after apprentice on telly - dh is screaming abuse at liverpool match so have to leave room with computer!

Dd had a sit in one, and she loved it. Provided you make sure the height adjustment is correct, and don't leave your lo in it for too long or leave them unsupervised, I don't see any problem with them. The joy of it was that with a couple of well-placed chairs, I could let her have some roaming space in the kitched when I was cooking, without her crawling under my feet.

Dd got very frustrated with her little friend's trolley style walker, because until she learnt to walk, she couldn't balance with it, whereas in her sit in one, she could propel herself around quite happily.

My dh has given up on the footie - obviously not a good match

ds has the chicco dj walker which he loved - plenty to do on it, slow go adjustable wheels and you can remove the activity bit so it just has a tray on which is good for giving them snacks on.

Hope your dp is a liverpool fan

DS also had the chicco dj walker one.

He used to whizz around the kitchen. It gave me and him some freedom. I even put him in it in the garden (with me there too). He walked by the time he was one so didn't affect any of his development IMO.

That was my concern with the trolley one as she isnt pulling herself up or anything but is qute active otherwise!
