Selfish little toad

Ok my 3 year old ds has turned into a selfish wee toad (for want of a better word)! He has always been very kind and good at sharing so I am not used to this and don't know how to sort it? At the moment I am resorting to telling him if he doesn't share his toys I will give them away. He doesn't have a problem with sharing food just toys. He started playgroup in Ferbruary so I wonder if this may have something to do with it

is 3 not the age that they realise their self importance and start to assert their personalities to see how to get things etc?

it will all pass by which time you'll be demented and he'll be none the wiser

Oh right I see , he is quite a mature 3 year old if I dare say it! He has never done the temper tantrum carry on and generally is very well behaved hence why I am so surprised by this behaviour, it is very when friends come round and he doesn't let their kids play! He gave my neighbour a chocolate cake today and told her it was for sharing so understands the concept, mind you he was eyeing it up all day!

I would give him the benefit of the doubt to be honest, my dd was the same at 3 but seems to have cut it out a bit more whilst 4, god only knows what 5 is going to bring

The voice of bitter experience says if you escape the terrible twos, you are in for a shock when they turn three... sorry! This too shall pass, honest.

Oh thanks edam, was hoping that it wouldn't turn sour til his teens and then I could just kick him out or send him to his Nanas!!
