probably teething
(yes, I know, that's what everyone says about everything but sometimes it's right )
or coming down with a cold
keep up the cuddles and he'll be fine

Awww, I just looked at your picture, what a cutie! My ds2 is 7 months and I know how they can just floor you with a crumpled face.

I don't think he will become aware of being separate yet. I was told it wasn't until they were more like one or even older.

I bet he gets a wee cold or a tooth or something in the next day or two. Teething hurts without any actual teeth to show for it, bummer.

Oh, don't feel guilty. He's probably just feeling a bit under the weather today.

Of course he needs to learn to respond to your tone of voice, as this will help keep him safe when he starts moving around.

As my auntie said to me last week when I was blaming my working hours for my DS aged 5 being tearful - get off the cross! You don't always have to blame yourself.
