Hello, I am not sure if this is being posted in the right section, so apologies if not.
Our youngest is and has been struggling at school since reception, now in Year 2.
As I used to volunteer at the school I am aware that a lot of information goes on to Cpoms (like a recording of behaviour/ incident software)
I am also aware that there is a lot of information about my youngest on there due to him not coping in school (volatile outbursts , refusal to engage in class, unable to stay focused, etc)
We (as his parents) believe that he is on the spectrum somewhere and we are doing all we can for him to be assessed.
I asked our school for all information on our child that is on Cpoms, mainly for record keeping but also as we need to gather as much information as possible for future assessments/ehcna and general support.
The school have today made it quite clear that they are not keen to hand the information over as it requires a massive amount of work for them when they are already stretched to their limits. (Retracting names etc)
So my question is they have a legal obligation to give me the information they have on my child right?
Also they have said if I was to do an EHCNA application they would have to submit everything on Cpoms so it is pointless me having it (their words).
Is this true? Would they have a legal obligation to submit ALL of the information on CPoms if an EHCNA was applied for? As I know they haven't submitted this for the CAMHS assessment.
And would I get a copy of it once they have submitted it?!
