Other kids at nursery

Is it reasonable (or not) to ask staff at nursery to try and pair my 3 year old off with some different kids? He's been playing with the same kids since he started there 6 months ago, one of whom is really poorly behaved and regularly hits him. I know they're only little and learning so I've tried to not be too fussy. He's started telling me every day after that the kids were naughty and he doesn't like them.

Is it a reasonable thing to ask?

I would definitely talk to his educator or carers about it. If they can't change him, they could at least pay more attention so the other doesn't hit him.

If the other kid hits him regularly, I would worry about the message that sends him subconsciously. He has to know it is not acceptable.
