anyone kept shy 17 m.o. baby home from class(music) they scream in?

My DD is very uncomfortable lately in music class - I kept her home today - anyone done similar things to "protect" child?

If she doesn't like it, it's pointless taking her. Would she be happy doing it if she was sitting on your lap and gradually plucking up her courage?
