17 month old wakes up 5 times nightly

dear other parents,
is there anyone else out there with a child 17 months old who wakes up very often at night? I would like to know I am not alone!

Yes. He's 18 months and wakes up 4-5 times a night. One of us has to sleep with him every night. Really soul-destroying. Difficult as I go to work part-time. I would do anything to get through a whole night undisturbed.

numum - how do you manage? Do they eventually sleep on their own. What time do they wake?
I think I must be a rubbish mum cos I can't get him to sleep . Have you tried any patricular techniques?

Mine is the same ! Answers please ! Okay he does get milk in the night but it is hard to cut it out as it seems mean

thanks for the optimistic reply. Thanks everyone else too for their normalizing messages! Trolleydolly71, did you do something in particular (ie stop breastfeeding at 2 years) to get baby to sleep through at age 2?

I manage by napping when baby naps and going to bed very early.
but I am usually tired all the time!
