My 21 m old is screaming the house down. have put her in the cot as tbh was concerned I would lose it myself.

She is basically refusing to have her nappy changed. That's all but it's causing absolute hysterics. She has had a poo and needs a change but refuses to come to get it done.

Not helped that she is well overdue her nap and is in total meltdown.

What should I do. I think she may cry herself to sleep but this would be with a dirty nappy. On the other hand I physically cannot change her nappy as she is throwing herself around, biting and scratching me. It's ridiculous.

I keep going in to see if she has calmed down but she will not budge.

Would value some quick advice. Please!!!!

Ds sometimes does this. We had to resort to telling him that the worms were coming ot eat the poo and would nibble his bum

I'd make her have her nappy changed, no matter how much she screams. Pin her down if you have to! My friend's ds hates nappy changes and she frequently has to kneel on him (gently!) to stop him from escaping! Do it then if she's still screaming, put her down to sleep. Sorry no help at all really!

Leave her nappy on till she calms down. It won't do her any harm. Can you take her out in the garden for a few minutes to try to calm her?

wait til she's asleep and then change her nappy
or run the bath? does she like baths?

Just a thought but at 21 months maybe the nappy battles can be ended by doing away with nappies all together. Its up to you wheteher you think she is ready but maybe try suggesting to her that if she is to grown up to have her nappy changed then she can do her poo in the potty instead.

But right now while she is in meltdown Id just let her fall asleep and do it, even if she wakes slighty at least it will be done.

Thanks. I took her down stairs eventually and she let me change her! Seems she didn't want a change upstairs but OK downstairs. Lord knows why. Anyway thanks for listening I was losing my mind at the time!
