3 year old rubbing on chair?

My daughter was 3 at the end of August, for the last year she has rubbed herself against the edge of her chair when sat at the table. She grunts and totally zones out while doing it. I have asked her what she’s doing and previously she has said ‘it’s nice’. I have tried not to make a fuss over it but now she has started pre school she has begun doing it in class, today the teacher reported she has done it majority of the day.

they have mentioned autism / adhd.

id like to know if anybody else has had any experience regarding this and your children have grown out of it?

worried as she grows older how this will impact her in class / making friends / etc.

TIA x.

It's not a flag for autism, Google infant gratification disorder - she's literally doing it because she's realised it feels nice. It's very normal, try not to worry!
